The GTLLI (in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada)
offers lecture courses on a diverse range of topics.
Our intention is to stimulate the mind, intellect and soul
of our members. Learning, understanding and becoming more aware of the
world at large, of our communities and of ourselves is the primary goal of the
Georgian Triangle Lifelong Learning Institute.

Janice Stein is the Belzberg Professor of Conflict Management,
Department of Political Science and Director of the Munk Centre
for International Studies, at the University of Toronto. She
received her undergraduate degree from McGill University and
her Masters from Yale. In 2006 the University of Alberta
awarded her an Honourary Doctorate of Laws.
Professor Stein, a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and an
honourary member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences,
was awarded the Molson Prize by the Canada Council for
outstanding contribution by a social scientist to public debate.

In 2001, Professor Stein was the Massey Lecturer. She has served
on many international advisory panels including the working
group on Middle East Negotiations at the United States
Institute of Peace. Professor Stein has a long list of publications
and is currently writing a book on local and global challenges to accountability.
On April 6, 2006, Professor Stein was appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada, our
country’s highest honour for lifetime achievement.
